Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Companion Turtle Biodegradable Water Burial Urn hold two people's ashes?

Yes. It holds 480 cubic inches, enough for two adults with a combined weight of up to about 480 pounds before cremation, using the common one-cubic-inch-per-pound guideline.

Do I need permission for a sea burial?

No permit is needed in advance for U.S. ocean burial, but it must happen at least three nautical miles from land and be reported to the EPA within 30 days. Inland waters often have their own rules, so check locally.

Does this urn need special care?

Handle it gently and keep it dry. Avoid damp rooms, basements and direct sunlight so it stays in good condition until the day of the service.

Can I get this urn in time for a service?

Yes, we move quickly. Weekday orders placed by 1:00 PM CST ship the same business day, and engraved orders ship the same day when the proof is approved by 1:00 PM CST. After the cutoff, orders ship the next business day. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
